St George’s Catholic School is holding some open sessions for prospective parents to have a tour of our thriving parish school and an opportunity to talk to the Headteacher. ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS FOR 2026/27
St George's Catholic School are consulting on their 2026/27 admission arrangements. You will find a copy of the arrangements below.
The consultation will end on 20 January 2025 and the final determined arrangements will be published on the school website by 15 March 2025.
Proposed changes from the existing arrangements include:
1. The introduction of a new oversubscription criteria for:
- Children who are a member of an Eastern Christian Church
- Children of another Christian demonination
- Children of another faith
- Children of a member of School staff, within each category
2. The introduction of a new Supplementary Information Form (to help process applications from those applying under the religious and/ or staff categories).
3. A new in year application form
4. The use of a random number generator to help rank applicants rather than drawing lots.
5. A revised definition of home address to include any address where the child spends any part of the school week.
Comments are not being sought on the rest of the arrangements.
We are inviting comments you may wish for consideration on these proposed arrangements by 12.00pm on 20 January 2025.
