Dear Parents and Carers,
Summer Fete and School Disco
Like many of you, we believe that events like school discos and summer fetes are not just opportunities for fun and enjoyment—they are crucial for fostering a vibrant school community and enriching our children's school experience. These events provide wonderful opportunities for our children to build friendships, develop social skills, and create memorable moments. As you can imagine, the success of these events hinges on the support of an active Parent Teacher Association (PTA).
We warmly invite you to join our PTA and to be a part of making these events possible!
Your involvement, no matter how small, can make a significant difference in ensuring that these special events continue to be a highlight in our school calendar. Together, we can help to create cherished memories for our children and be a part of something special.
To register your interest in helping to enrich your child’s experience at St George’s, please fill in the online form which has been emailed out separately. Or click here to access it.
Sports Days
We are currently consulting with staff on dates for the KS1 and KS2 Sports Days and we will also select ‘back-up’ days in case of bad weather. All going well, we will inform you of the chosen dates in next week’s newsletter. We would like to give you as much notice as possible, as we very much hope you can join us to watch the children participate, and some of you may choose to take part in the Parent’s Race! Watch this space.
Pre-School Gate – Safeguarding
Please could we remind parents and carers that the Pre-School gate that allows access from the pre-school to the school must not be propped open. This poses a safeguarding risk in allowing access to our school site. The gate is on a timer and automatically locks to keep our site secure.
We do appreciate that parents with bikes may need to prop it open to get their bike through, and we ask that they ensure the gate is closed once they come through. Occasionally, the gate needs a little grease to ensure it is latching effectively. Please let a member of the office staff know if this is the case so we can action this immediately. Thank you for your support in keeping our site safe and secure for our pupils.
I hope you enjoy the sunshine this weekend, and for those celebrating it, happy Mothering Sunday.
Best wishes,
Edwina McDonnell
Headteacher
