Dear Parents and Carers,

Christmas Week

What a fantastic week it has been filled with fun and merriment, and of course, plenty of learning thrown in! Highlights of the week were the excellent KS2 Carol Concert, a very festive Christmas Lunch and a special appearance by Father Christmas at our Friday assembly. It was heart-warming to see the children’s reaction and if you could bottle the Christmas spirit that was in the air, you could power Santa’s sleigh for many a year to come. We feel very lucky to have had such a special visit and I have passed on our thanks, on behalf of the entire St George’s school community, in a message to the North Pole.

There were also some tasty mince pies on offer after Tuesday’s End of Term Mass, and the Chaplains were ready to spring into action to serve tea, coffee, mince pies and yule logs to the parents and governors who attended. Thank you to those who came; your presence truly mattered to our eager Chaplains, who take great pride in welcoming and serving members of our school community.

PSG Christmas Raffle

We had a very festive whole school assembly on Friday (ho ho ho!) and it was the perfect opportunity to draw our raffle winners for the Christmas 2025 Raffle. There were lots of cheers as the names were drawn. A member of the office team will be in touch with the winners, and we will be asking them to pop by the school office to collect. Thank you once again for your contributions this year, both in buying raffle tickets and donating items to the raffle hampers which has raised £369 – a fantastic sum. Congratulations to our hamper winners and thank you to Mrs Gullick for organising it. I’m already looking forward to the next one at the Summer Fete!

I hope you have a cheerful, festive Christmas break with your families, and we look forward to welcoming you back on Monday 5th January for the start of the new school term.

Best wishes,

Edwina McDonnell
