Dear Parents and Carers,

A New Term at St George’s

Happy New Year and welcome back to our Spring Term at St George’s. As we begin a new year, we do so with a renewed sense of hope, purpose and gratitude for our school community. Guided by our school values and mission, we look forward to working closely with families to support every child’s growth, learning and wellbeing.

Our school thrives when we work in partnership with parents and carers, and we are very grateful for the ongoing support and kindness shown by our families. Together, we can ensure that our children feel safe, valued and inspired to do their best.

We continue to value open and honest communication and want parents to feel comfortable approaching us with any questions or concerns. Where a more detailed conversation is required, we kindly ask that an appointment is made so that we can give you the time, privacy and attention such discussions deserve.

Regular attendance and good punctuality play a vital role in helping children feel settled, confident and ready to learn. We are grateful for your continued support in ensuring that children arrive at school on time each day, ready to make the most of every learning opportunity.

We look forward to the term ahead, trusting that, guided by our faith and shared values, it will be a time of growth, learning and joy for our whole school community.

Science Wow Day

A big thank you to Mrs Chidgey, our Year 5 teacher and Science Lead, who organised a most exciting Science Wow Day, which took place on Thursday this week. We had two visiting scientists who led a whole school assembly and then provided exciting science-based workshops for each year group. The day was a tremendous success and there was a real buzz around the school. I am so grateful to have such hard-working staff who inspire the children in their learning across the curriculum.

Best wishes,

Edwina McDonnell

Headteacher
