Competitive Sports at St George’s

We are extremely grateful to Mr Chidgey and the sports team for the dedication and commitment they show in developing and preparing our pupils for the many sporting competitions we enter as a school. Whether in athletics, football, swimming or Quad Kids, a great deal of time and effort goes into supporting our pupils both physically and mentally. They are encouraged to hone their skills, work collaboratively as a team and, most importantly, to always try their best.

As I write this, Mr Chidgey has given up his day off to take a group of children to a swimming gala. It is passion and commitment such as this that truly help our pupils to flourish.

Following the success of our teams in winning numerous local and regional championships, we are keen to celebrate competitive sport at St George’s even further. We are therefore rebranding our competition sportswear, and pupils will soon be proudly wearing our new St George’s Dragons kit. We hope this will inspire our players and strengthen the sense of pride and belonging that comes from being part of a team.

Thank you once again to Mr Chidgey for all that you do to develop the skills, confidence and team spirit of our pupils. We wish the 12 pupils competing in today’s swimming gala the very best of luck!

Best wishes,

Edwina McDonnell

Headteacher
