23rd January 2026
Dear Parents and Carers,
Parents Evening
These meetings will take place on Monday 9th February and Tuesday 10th February. As usual, appointments should be booked via the online booking system on the school website. Booking will open tomorrow (24th January) at 9.00am and appointments will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
If you experience any difficulties accessing the booking system, please contact the school office for support.
During these meetings, teachers will provide a brief update on your child’s learning and progress. Should you wish to discuss any matters in greater detail, please contact the school office to arrange a meeting or phone call with the class teacher.
Pre-owned Uniform Sale – Friday 30th January
We will be holding a Pre-owned Uniform Sale in the Busy Room on Friday afternoon from 2:45 to 3:30pm, in exchange for a small cash donation. Please come along if you are looking for any school uniform items for your child. (Jumpers. Cardigans, Grey Shorts/Trousers/Skirts/Pinafores etc). Any Lost and found items that your child may have left in school will also be available for you to look through.
Silver Medal at the County Finals
We are very impressed with the St George’s Dragons who attended the Indoor Athletics county finals on Thursday. Mr Chidgey was thrilled with their efforts and praised their hard work, skill and determination. They secured the silver medal and it was certainly well-deserved.
Well done to the team, who represented their school so well. And of course, I’m sure you will join me in thanking Mr Chidgey, who supported and challenged the children to achieve their best. We are very proud of all involved!
Safeguarding at St George’s
Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do at St George’s. We work hard to ensure that every child feels safe, valued and well supported, and we want our families to feel confident in the measures we have in place. We invite all parents and carers to visit the safeguarding section of our website, where you can find our policies, key contacts and useful guidance. Thank you for working with us to keep our school community safe.
Swimming Reminder
Swimming is an important part of our PE curriculum, and all children are expected to take part. Children who are well enough to be in school are generally well enough to join their swimming lesson. Please ensure your child brings their full swimming kit on their class swimming day, including a towel, swimwear, goggles and a swimming hat. Thank you for your support in enabling children to take part fully in this important part of the St George’s curriculum.
Best wishes,
Edwina McDonnell
Headteacher
